It’s hard to believe it’s already been 35 years since I set eyes on the girl I would eventually marry. Truly, we were just kids back then with no defined plans for our futures. Fast forward with many “firsts” in between, I can see how God knew what was best for me and the plans he had for my life. He knew I would need a great partner to raise a family, maintain a professional career and make it through the trials life brings. I thank God for my wonderful wife and partner in many endeavors, Tracy.
Likewise, I’ve learned over the past five years that strong and faithful partners are needed to make the mission of Mighty Hearts International come alive. Serving poor children in Peru or any other country is a daunting task with many challenges. But like marriage it also comes with many, many blessings. One of those blessings is to see God bring others, perhaps like you, to partner with us to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of young children. Through prayer, volunteering, giving and even helping out on a short term mission trip to Lima, Peru, your involvement makes all the difference.
In 2012, I challenge you to sign-up to lead or help at one of our fundraising events such as the Human Race, Barn Sale and Octoberfest. Or, if you have some special skills you think would help us, let us know. Our website “contact” page is the place to get started.
Peace and blessings,

True Christmas 2011 Wrap-up
Thank you! In over ten cities, children were blessed by hearing the truth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through our annual True Christmas campaign. The following is a message from Antonio Rojas, founder of Mighty Hearts – Peru:
“Mission Accomplished: 3,060 CHILDREN BLESSED! Congratulations to all the brothers and sisters who contributed directly and indirectly to make True Christmas a reality. 583 volunteers worked, but many more were praying in support of this great celebration. One of the greatest joys was to learn that several of our children from Mighty Hearts clubs are now top students in their schools. That was a surprise and a blessing. Once again ... CONGRATULATIONS!!”
Our team in Peru is wonderful! They are passionate to make a difference in the lives of children, to change their cities and to serve the one true God. They are what make Mighty Hearts International a great place to invest in Kingdom work! Visit our Facebook page to see photos of True Christmas activities and stay tuned to upcoming blogs for what’s in store in 2012.
Happy New Year and blessings to you and your family,

Move That Bus!
Many of us know that phrase from the show Extreme Home Makeover. Today, that phrase has a much different meaning for the Mighty Hearts team in Peru. Five teams are assembled and prepared to head out to five different cities to deliver the Good News and gifts to hundreds of children and families. These cities include Concepcion, Llata, Sunampe, Moyobamba and Pichanaki.
I can’t help recalling the varied emotions of our U.S. team last year preparing to go on one of the “big” trips the first weekend of True Christmas. First, there were many questions such as “is that 18 hours each way?”, “what kind of bus are we traveling in—does it have a bathroom?”, “will there be a translator on this or that trip?”, etc. Additionally, I witnessed emotions spanning from fear to unabated excitement for an adventure. In the end, all was well and many children and short term missionaries were blessed.
As you head into this weekend, please be praying for the five teams and the children, asking God to fulfill his plans for each and every person affected by the True Christmas experience. Stay tuned for photo updates as well. Thank you and have a great Christmas!

True Christmas Thoughts Part 2
Good afternoon Amigos!
As we all sit down with family and friends for Thanksgiving I realize just how much I have to be thankful for. I have a loving family, stable job, and improving health. The Green Bay Packers even won another Super Bowl this year!
I'm also thankful for how the work of True Christmas has positively impacted the lives of children in Peru. Last December, I had the opportunity to take part in True Christmas which is a series of festivals that take place in mountain villages, the jungle and poor urban communities. Last year True Christmas reached close to 3,000 of the poorest children all around Peru for Jesus Christ.
Our team was able to share God's love through games, singing, and celebrations. Each child also received a fun gift like a doll or toy robot. For most of the children it will be the only gift they would receive all Christmas. Along with the gift each child also received a special cake called a "panettone", which is a favorite of the children. Most importantly the children learn about the true meaning of Christmas which is the message of Jesus coming to Earth to be with us.
The 800 or-so volunteers that make up True Christmas each year understand that through giving we received the best gift of all. And that is what I am most thankful for this year.
This Thanksgiving week please consider supporting True Christmas. Click on this link to learn more about True Christmas and how you can get involved! http://www.mightyhearts.org/projects/true_christmas

True Christmas Thoughts
True Christmas isn’t just a program of Mighty Hearts. It is the heart and soul of what the entire organization is all about, reaching children with the message of Jesus Christ every year. Before there were children’s clubs in Peru, there was True Christmas. When I think of the Mighty Hearts-Peru True Christmas program, I get excited because I know that it’s an event that changes lives and impacts children that would otherwise not be reached. None of the children that participate in the True Christmas program are current Mighty Hearts club members, so True Christmas is a pure outreach initiative. The kids that are reached are the neediest children in their communities. They are hand-picked to participate in this special event. They are hungry for the love and attention that they receive, and they are hungry for the message of salvation that they hear. I’m so encouraged by our team down in Peru. From a church of around 2000 people, there were over 800 volunteers that helped to make True Christmas happen last year. That’s just an incredible commitment to reaching children. Teams travel to the mountains, jungles, and deserts to reach kids throughout the entire country, and they go all-out to give the children a top-notch program. I’m humbled and inspired by the dedication to reach and love children for Jesus at the time of year when it’s easiest to get caught up in everything else. This is what Christmas is truly about.
